Meet The Team | Aaron Maguyon

Meet the Team!  Introducing Aaron Maguyon: PLAY Hockey’s Mid-Atlantic Portfolio Coordinator

PLAY Hockey is excited to introduce Aaron Maguyon as the newest Coordinator on the US East Coast, bringing a wealth of experience to manage a series of events and some team programs including the Philly Spring / Summer Program and PLAY Hockey Selects Mid-Atlantic Tournament Teams.

Aaron began playing hockey at the age of 8 where his love of the game flourished across his expansive career. With Aarons on and off-ice accomplishments he is excited to bring that knowledge and experience to the PLAY Hockey family.

Aaron’s playing career has spanned a number of years from youth hockey through junior, college and the professional leagues. Starting off he played for Team Comcast and was coached by former NHLer Keith Primeau. From there he moved onto playing with Bishop Eustace Prep, the Philadelphia Revolution (EHL) and the Aston Rebels (NAHL). With the Rebels he earned Rookie of the Year honors and the following season was awarded the team's most offensive player award. From there he played for Hobart College (NCAA DIII) and earned a series of awards over his time including New England Hockey Conference Rookie of the Week and Player of the Week as well as the William C Stiles ‘43 Memorial Award for the player that displays leadership, determination and character. His final season he was named Team Captain and won the MVP award.

As a Coordinator, Aaron is focused on continuing PLAY Hockey’s legacy of excellence and  ensuring every player and  team has a memorable experience.

“We’re excited to have Aaron join our East Coast team focusing on the Mid-Atlantic events and we look forward to seeing the positive impact he will make” said Phil Passareli - General Manager, East Coast Hockey Region for PLAY Hockey.

We asked Aaron a few fun questions to get to know him a little better:

What was your pre-game ritual or superstition when you played hockey?
Getting a coffee before getting to the rink and kicking the soccer ball around with my teammates was how I liked to prepare and stay loose.

If you could play a game with any NHL player, past or present, who would it be and why?
My favorite player was always Wayne Gretzky so I’d choose him because he is one of the greatest to play in the NHL.

What’s your favorite memory from your hockey career?
My favorite memory was being able to make the NCAA tournament during my freshman and senior year.

If you weren’t playing hockey, what sport or profession would you choose?
If I wasn't playing hockey, I would play golf.

What is your philosophy when organizing a youth hockey tournament?
My philosophy revolves around player development where players can improve their skills, a positive atmosphere, and balanced competition so that players can have fun, but also learn and challenge themselves.
