Over 200 teams converged on Minneapolis for an exciting weekend of youth hockey!

The Easton Cup 2024 was a spectacular showcase of talent, competition, and community spirit, drawing in hockey teams and athletes from across the state and neighbouring regions. Held on August 16-18th, 2024 across 10 rinks, the event featured 28 sheets of ice in total. This year, the tournament saw participation from an incredible 200 male and female teams and over 3,200 athletes, making it one of the largest editions yet.

Eric Knutsen is the Tournament Director and had this to say about the event. "The Easton Cup and all our PLAY events in Minnesota are more than just organizing games; it's about bringing together athletes, families, and fans to celebrate the spirit of competition, teamwork, and community. This event creates lasting memories and friendships that extend beyond the rink, showcasing the passion and dedication that make hockey such a special sport."

Over the course of the event, 458 games were played, highlighting the depth of talent and the high level of competition present across 22 male and female divisions. From as young as U10 up to U19, AAA teams across both open and invitational divisions battled it out in intense matchups, with each game bringing its own unique blend of excitement and drama.

Spectators were treated to a wide array of thrilling games, from nail-biting overtime finishes to high-scoring affairs that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The atmosphere was electric, with fans, families, and players coming together to celebrate. Once again, the Easton Cup proved to be a premier event in the PLAY Hockey calendar, offering a platform for young and seasoned players alike to showcase their skills.

Congratulations to all the teams for their hard work and dedication and to those who walked away as Champions.

We look forward to seeing everyone back next year for another round of exciting hockey action!
