Celebrating the Future of Women’s Hockey: PWHL Showcase Toronto Recap
This past weekend, PWHL Toronto hosted an inspiring girls' hockey development showcase, bringing together over 100 female athletes across two age divisions (2011/12 and 2013/14) in the first ever PWHL Showcase Toronto presented by Warrior. The event was a testament to the skill, passion, and growth of the next generation of women’s hockey players — and Toronto teams rose to the occasion, claiming the championship in both divisions.
Highlights from the Weekend:
🏆 2011-12 Division Champions: Toronto
🏆 2013-14 Division Champions: Toronto
The players had the incredible opportunity to meet and learn from PWHL stars Mikyla Grant-Mentis (PWHL Seattle) and Jessica DiGirolamo (Montreal Victoire), who shared insights and inspiration from their professional journeys.
Behind the bench, the athletes were guided by legendary leadership:
- Vicky Sunohara (IIHF Hall of Famer, Olympic gold medalist, and pioneer in women’s hockey)
- Jim Midgley (Assistant Coach, Toronto Sceptres)
Beyond the competition, the weekend was about development, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game. Events like these are crucial in building the pathway for young athletes—and it was incredible to see the next wave of talent in action.
A huge thank you to PWHL Toronto, the coaches, players, and families who made this event possible.
The future of women’s hockey is bright, and we’re proud to support its growth every step of the way.
