Joining a Team
Why do I have to “Join A Team”?
To streamline the experience, we have consolidated the athlete registration process to include both waivers and team roster inclusion. This allows parents/guardians to easily sign, review, and manage their athlete waivers while helping PLAY organizers and team managers accurately track who is eligible to step on the ice.
This process automatically registers your athlete for that specific team. If your athlete participates in another PLAY event with a different team, you will simply need to provide consent and confirmation via a "Join a Team" link for that new team.
Can I have a secondary parent/guardian co-sign the in-app waiver?
For the time being, our PLAY waivers only allow for one parent/guardian signature. Parents or guardians who legally require a co-signature must collaborate and agree on a primary signer for the PLAY waiver process.
Do I have to sign a waiver for every PLAY event my player participates in?
No. Our digital waiver encompasses all PLAY Hockey events indefinitely. This means a parent/guardian only needs to sign a PLAY waiver once per athlete for the duration of athlete’s involvement with PLAY Hockey.
Where can I see the waivers I’ve signed?
Once a primary signer has completed an athlete waiver, a copy can be viewed by logging into the app and navigating to the signer’s account settings.
You can access this by clicking on the “Account” icon in the bottom navigation of the app. Here you will find a list of athlete waivers signed by that account. Clicking the associated “Athlete Waiver” link will take you to the viewable waiver.
Where can a parent/guardian find the “Join Team” link for my athlete?
“Join Team” links are sent to parents/guardians by their team manager or administrator. These are typically distributed after event registration.
As a Team Manager where can I find the “Join Team” link for my team?
To get your team “Join Team” link, Login to access your PLAY Hockey / Regystra account (note: this is separate from your PLAY app account). Edit your team, then navigate to the "Rosters" tab in the side menu. On this page, you will see a "Get Invite Link" button. Clicking this will copy the “Join Team” link for that team to your clipboard, allowing you to share it with parents/guardians.
I need to make edits to a waiver I just signed. What do I do?
If you need to make edits to your signed waiver, please contact appsupport@playhockey.com to discuss the necessary changes.
How do I delete my account?

PLAY Highlights & Athlete Profiles
What is PLAY Highlights?
PLAY Highlights is the latest feature exclusively available on the PLAY Hockey app. Users can view and share game highlights, while verified parents and athletes can post content directly to event, team, and athlete profiles. It’s the best way to showcase top plays and build a vibrant, shared community for every reel-worthy moment.
Why can't I upload a highlight?
To ensure the safety and accountability of highlight contributors and athletes, uploading to PLAY Highlights is currently available only to official PLAY athletes, their parents/guardians, and select PLAY-approved accounts. You can still enjoy other features of PLAY Highlights, such as watching, liking, and sharing highlights, and following your favorite athletes, teams, and events.
Why can’t I see PLAY Highlights?
PLAY Highlights is a new feature added to the PLAY Hockey app. Ensure you have the latest version of the app in order to fully enjoy the feature. The latest app version is available through the App Store for iOs and the Play Store for Android.
What is an athlete account?
What is an athlete profile?
An athlete profile is a digital archive for PLAY athletes. It serves as a central space for stats, schedules, and highlights, allowing the PLAY community to follow the athlete’s journey. Fans and teammates can upload footage of an athlete’s top plays, making the profile a powerful tool to promote their skills and progress.
What is the difference between private and public highlights?
Parent/guardian accounts have control over the visibility of their athlete’s highlights. When other PLAY parent/guardian or official athlete accounts upload game footage, those videos are "submitted" to the athlete and their parent/guardian to view.
- Public Highlights: These act as a curated showcase of skills and progress, viewable by all PLAY app users directly on the Athlete Profile.
- Private Highlights: These are hidden from the Athlete Profile and are not viewable by the general public.
Why do I have a profile if I’m not an athlete?

Stay tuned, move events will be added in the coming days.
The full list of live and upcoming events are always available at playhockey.com/events.
Why are the player stats not displaying for my event?
